I am honored to work with the owners of Trattoria Contadina, a delicious family-owned Italian restaurant in San Francisco. Kevin and Gina are the third-generation Correntis, operating the restaurant since it opened in 1984. While they wanted to respect the heritage and history of this San Francisco institution, they also wanted an updated, cool vibe that brought in younger clientele, and reflected who they are as people. With a passion for craft cocktails and drool-worthy food, they certainly make my job easy!
I created a simple, hip logo for Trattoria Contadina to update the branding and create a unified look. We established brand colors, fonts, and a voice for social media posts. I updated the website, conveying the extensive family history in the About page, and feature their loyal staff. Pre-covid, I made updates to the Events page and pushed private event bookings via social media throughout the fall and into the holidays. We also discussed a spring push for smaller groups, like book clubs, to use the smaller dining room for meetings.
In six months, I increased their organic followers by 33% without paid ads. I focused on engaging the foodie and blogger community of the Bay Area, while also targeting visitors and tourists. Gina received compliments daily in the restaurant about how cool their social media is. People wanted to know how she did it all – run a business, raise two kids, and engage on social media. Sometimes you just need an extra pair of hands!
One of the best ways to convey changing information during Covid times is leveraging your social media. The restaurant was closed for almost a year but I continued to help Gina convey the changing information during the many phases. From takeout only, to being completely closed, to a re-opening, mask mandates, and holiday closures, customers rely on their social media to get the most up-to-date information.
This ongoing project includes the following:
- Modernize company branding including colors, typography, and logo
- Update all social media profiles with current info and branding
- Created Instagram Highlights with branded slides including Info (transportation options, reservations, hours, etc), Press and Reviews, and Groups and Event (for large parties and restaurant buy-outs)
- Revise website to look more current, hip, and provide helpful information (edited since covid)
- Content creation and scheduling for social media platforms
- Engage with customers, local food/restaurant influencers, ambassadors, and media
- Generated Weekly Special posts including images and video as well as Stories published every Friday (2019)
- Managed contributing contractors (2019)
- Collected User Generated Content and created branded posts, inciting more UGC via branded hashtags
- Adapted to changing conditions and marketing plan during COVID-19
- Use Linkinbio to help direct customers from Instagram posts
- Update Yelp, Google Maps & Business with photos, hours, and other changing information
- Respond to Google reviews from customers
- Create and send newsletter via MailChimp to over 15k subscribers
- Promoted Cyber Monday deal to net over $4k in sales (Nov 2021)
